Visit the Gallery Shop

The Gallery Shop, home of the Garrett County Arts Council, in Oakland, Maryland is now open by appointment. They are also open to the public on certain days of the week. Follow their Facebook page to make an appointment or learn about upcoming walk-in hours.

Heading Up is my latest piece to hang in the shop. I encourage you to visit and support this shop, where you can view art from many talented artists in Garrett County.

Virtual Studio Tour 2020

Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Garrett County Artist Studio Tour has been canceled. This event is traditionally an opportunity for people to visit different artists around the county, viewing their work and studios. It’s also a chance to see the artists at work. While it’s certainly a disappointment, as many things have been this year, I will do my best to bring you a “virtual studio tour” during July.

Deep Creek Lake and Garrett County Art Sale

To thank people for visiting during the Tour weekend, I’ve always had some show specials at the event. With that in mind, a selection of Garrett County and Deep Creek Lake themed original art will be offered at a 20% discount during July. Work will include scenes from the lake, sailing, farms, and other areas of Garrett County. A link to this virtual gallery will be posted on this blog starting July 1st.

Greeting Card Packages

Many of you like to purchase a supply of art print cards every year. If you’d like to restock your supply, we can do that. We will prepare cards in packs of six. Cards retail for $5 a card, but we will offer our traditional “studio tour special” of $25 for six cards. They will be packaged by subject matter – more information to follow on this as well.

Videos and photos

For behind the scenes videos and photos of work in progress over the coming month, please sign up here for my email newsletter.

While it certainly won’t replace seeing everyone in person, we hope that you can “visit” over the coming month.

Cutting Edge

I worked on another series of sailboat paintings this summer, based on the scenes around Deep Creek Lake’s thriving Flying Scot community. Cutting Edge  is one of the pieces in the series.  A few of them sold before the paint dried, but this is still available for purchase at the Garrett County Arts Council’s Gallery Shop.
