Thank you to everyone who stopped out during the Garrett County Arts Council Artist Studio Tour! It was great to open the studio up again to the public. Whether you came to browse or purchase art, it was great to see you all. We sold work that hadn’t even made it to the website yet, which is always a good thing. Below is By the Mark, which found its way to a new home.
I’m adding two sailing-themed pieces to my Featured Art gallery with Hiking Out and Heading Up. The gallery is a part of my 2020 Virtual Studio Tour. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out, you can view it here.
Recently I posted some art that I’ve done around sailing on Deep Creek Lake. You can’t talk about this subject without discussing Gordon K. “Sandy” Douglass, who created the Flying Scot – the predominant sailboat on the lake.
I did this piece a while back. This weekend is the annual Sandy Douglass Regatta on the lake. Also, he was recently inducted into the National Sailing Hall of Fame. I thought it was a good time to post it.
