Robert Yonke was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He currently works out of Florida and Western Maryland. His watercolors reflect favorite subjects such as music, the outdoors, and local landscapes. Memberships include the Garrett County Arts Council and The Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.
As the artist puts it, “My work reflects personal interests. For example, I find that working on a painting of a bluegrass artist allows me to relive the pleasure I’ve had picking with my friends.” Some of his favorite projects have included providing original artwork for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass and Delfest promotional material.
Robert has been fortunate to take part and receive awards in a variety of regional shows and has paintings hanging in many professional and private collections. He also enjoys teaching watercolor seminars for local and regional arts organizations.
He has been published in the Garrett County Art Council’s Ginseng, Mid-Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide, Turkey Call Magazine and other publications.
