Sunset View

If you’ve talked to me about my work or have asked me to paint a specific scene, you might know that I do not work fast when painting from photographs or particular ideas that are not my own. The Queen Bee has been wanting me to paint a photo that she took at sunset for a few summers now. I finally got around to it here in this 48″x24″ work on canvas, Sunset View.

Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who stopped out during the Garrett County Arts Council Artist Studio Tour! It was great to open the studio up again to the public. Whether you came to browse or purchase art, it was great to see you all.
We sold work that hadn’t even made it to the website yet, which is always a good thing. Below is By the Mark, which found its way to a new home.

Wings

After putting a few paintings of Garrett County waterfalls on paper, I decided to turn to canvas and came up with Wings. This painting is one of the last pieces completed this year in my Florida studio. It’s packed and ready to head north with me soon.

The Pond at Lawton Stables

Hilton Head Island has been a gathering spot for our family for years. A wide variety of inspiration exists on this barrier island, from the beaches to grassy dunes, maritime forests, and wetlands. I posted some art from a vacation back in this post in 2020.

One spot I like to paint is around the pond near Lawton Stables in Sea Pines Resort. Below are two pieces that developed after an afternoon of sketching around the pond.
